Welcome to Satus Health & Wellness
My name is Kenny Zwick, I am a soft tissue therapist here in Centennial, Colorado and I’m excited to start your Soft Tissue Therapy journey with you! I would like to start by presenting my practice’s mission statement with you:
“ Satus Health & Wellness is centered around the belief that all people deserve to live pain-free and able to do all the things they want to do. I believe in putting the power in the client’s hands through knowledge and support. It should and will only ever be about helping people feel better and changing lives.”
What is Soft Tissue Therapy?
-
Soft Tissue Therapy takes you from neuropathic-focused manual work to neuromuscular/proprioceptive reprogramming to insure that the fix sticks! We prioritze the time to educate you about your body and how to keep it feeling its best without any needed long-term treatments (including us!)
-
Our body is run on a system of neuropathways. Receptors send information to the brain and the brain sends reactions back down. Manual work is no exception, so Soft Tissue Therapy focuses on utilizing different neuropathways of the body creating aritifical lateral inihibition in order to decrease any discomfort and expedite treatment.
The manual treatment itself centers around a specialized version of Gua Sha, a Chinese Medicine scraping practice, which is performed in a much gentler and intentional manner than is traditional. We do not believe in worsening pain/conditions in order to fix you!
-
Humans by nature are objective human beings and thus, we give our body obejective commands such as “walk over there” or “pick this box up.” This leads to our body performing these tasks by any means necessary and developing straining/inefficient movement patterns which lead to many of the issues we experience with our bodies.
So Soft Tissue Therapy believes in reducating the body on how we want certain movements to be performed. Taking basic movements/positions such as sitting or standing, and removing the strain on one particular body part (ex. low back or hip flexors) by sharing the load with other body parts. There’s a lot more to be said about this piece so if you have any questions, please reach out!
-
Of course, you’ll make progress every session and any discomfort will dissipate within the first few sessions. But as for the long-term neuromuscular/propioceptive reprogramming, that should take a while right? Wrong! Because we are coorperated with the brain and the nervous system, the process is much quicker. For most people, they are feeling their best and confident to take care of their own bodies after 2-4 months of sessions!
